Fayetteville Street with the Briggs Hardware building in the center.

The City of Raleigh Museum is located in the heart of downtown Raleigh. We are located on Fayetteville Street, one of the city’s most walkable, historic, and urban streets. You have many different ways to get to us from wherever you are coming from.

We are located on the first floor of the historic Briggs Hardware Building.

For our smartphone users, we recommend downloading the Downtown Raleigh App, which helps you navigate and plan for your visit to the area.

Driving to Downtown Raleigh

Moore Square Station Parking Deck entrance on Wilmington Street

We are located at the following address:

220 Fayetteville Street
Raleigh, North Carolina 27601
(see on Google Maps)

However, we do not have on-site vehicle parking and therefore encourage visitors to first find the museum then head to a nearby parking deck. For larger parties, it is easy to drop off groups in front of the museum before heading to the deck to park your vehicle.

We recommend the Moore Square Parking Deck as it is the closest parking location to the museum. From the deck, you can walk through Exchange Plaza to Fayetteville Street where the museum is located.

The public entrance to the Moore Square Parking Deck is located at:

231 South Wilmington Street
Raleigh, North Carolina 27601
(see on Google Maps)

Most downtown Raleigh parking areas are managed by Parklink, the city’s parking program. More information about them can be seen here.
